My ideal job is to become a nurse after I graduated from Lake Washington College, but not just becoming a nurse is not final goal for my career. I would become a one of them: travel nurse, pediatrics nurse, nursing practitioner, military nurse, or nursing professor (I will introduce on post 3).
I think becoming a nurse is not only helping patients to increase their physical condition but also helping me to look back myself. What I meant, if there is a patient who could not even walk before, but he can walk on crutches now as he is getting better; then I would be really happy to the improvement of patients’ condition, and I would be so thankful that I can walk by my own two feet without any difficulties. Even breathing is nothing to me because it’s one of normal body functions, but some of patients cannot live without a respirator.
Also, I really like to interact with many people; I enjoy learning new ideas from others’ thought, experience, and stories. So becoming a nurse pretty much fit for it. Nurses are always meeting new people like patients, their families, doctors, and other nurses.

I wish I can earn a lot of money when I am young (not really young, but till 30’s), but when I turn to 40’s, I might not care about income. So I want to volunteer at poor countries like Africa after i turn to 40’s.
It could be heavily computer-based in future, but for now mostly nurses go around to patients and check them or give injections to them.

  1. I like the idea of you wanting to help people. My ideal career is very similar to yours except I'm more focused on pain management. Recently I've found that helping others has a lot more personal fulfillment than getting a paycheck but it doesn't hurt getting paid for doing something you love. Then it doesn't seem so much like work.
